Meet Dr. Shannon Forshey

Welcome to Village Pediatrics!

Let me introduce myself!

I am (almost) an Arizona native, having moved here when I was 5. I did my schooling at University of Arizona in Tucson for both my undergraduate degree and for medical school. I was a resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. After finishing residency, I joined a small practice in south Phoenix and then later joined a larger practice which specialized in children with special needs. I have primarily been taking care of patients in the clinic setting, but I also have been moonlighting as a pediatric hospitalist for the last 15+ years. The opportunity to work in both clinical and hospital settings has allowed me to watch my patients grow into amazing young adults while keeping some of the more complex skills needed for taking care of sicker patients.

My husband, Tim, and I were married in 1996. We have triplet daughters who are now grown, have left our home and are living their own lives (can you imagine?! How rude!). Slowly, we are adjusting to being empty nesters. We have two chocolate labs with whom I’m obsessed and who are incredibly ill-behaved but adorable. Did I mention I’m obsessed? In my free time, I enjoy teaching and practicing Pilates, reading, going to the theatre, hiking and traveling.

I decided to make the switch to the DPC model to get off the insurance treadmill and spend more time getting to know my patients and their families. I am truly honored that families have chosen me to take care of their most important family members. I am so grateful you’re here and look forward to meeting you!
